Confused People
Corrupt minds tend to be confused minds which, unless corrected, are self-destructive. People with corrupt minds set their own traps and fall into them. Evil thinking is debilitating. Paul spoke of those with corrupt minds. “Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.” – I Timothy 6:6 Common sense and plain logic are rare on the part of those whose minds are impure. Corrupt minds are small minds for they are selfish minds. It is all about self, power, and pleasure. Corrupt minded people often are not independent thinkers for their thinking is inside the box. A good example of my point is radical politicians who support fellow team members regardless of how bad they may be! Character and uprightness, to those with corrupted minds, mean nothing. Corrupt minded people may include highly educated people brainwashed into their ideology and academically warped to the extent of irrationality. Many are as confused as the two psychologists who met each other on the street and one said to the other. “Your fine today, how am I doing?”
The opposite of a corrupt mind is a pure mind resulting from a clean heart. “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10 Salvation straightens up the thinking and the working of the Holy Spirit enables the “renewal of the mind” which leads to prioritizing the will of God over the will of man. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” – Romans 12:2 Only the grace of God, in salvation, enables a person to really think clearly about the things that matter the most in life. – Chuck Peters – 8/30/2023
